Win a gorgeous wooden toy from Toys Naturally (Closed)

http://www.toysnaturally.co.uk

Now it’s probably not a secret that I have a bit of a thing for getting Chloe gorgeous toys and I especially love wooden toys. They just have that lovely feel about them, are made so well you know they’ll last and I always end up finding that Chloe has a much more imaginative and mostly longer playtime with them, sometimes the simplest things really are the best! And I love seeing Chloe’s wooden toys out on display, they look so beautiful, bright and engaging that I’d never hide them away in a toy box.

So with that in mind when the lovely Hillary from Toys Naturally got in contact about running a giveaway for one of the wooden toys she stocks. I quickly nipped over to her site to have a look around, fell in love with it and immediately said yes! It’s just the kind of place I love to browse and buy things from myself. It has a playful, fresh look but is easy to navigate and most importantly, has a whole array of gorgeous toys that I’d love to buy for Chloe. It did make me think why I’d not come across them before when I’ve been looking for some of the other wooden toys we have. But it turns out that Toys Naturally are a new online retailer that only started in September last year, but to look at the range of stock and the site itself, it looks like they’ve been established for years. And that’s down to Hillary’s real passion for the goods she carries, everything has been selected as being ethically made, with reduced air miles/carbon footprints where possible, all manufacturers use FSC wood and of course they all fall in line with the European CE safety code requirements. In a nutshell, they’re environmentally friendly and beautifully made wooden toys.

Hillary also kindly sent us a wooden toy from her range (I cant tell/show you what as it will ruin the giveaway! But it’s lovely) so that we could see how much she cares about the little things that make shopping with her special. Everything is dispatched within 24hrs by first class Royal Mail and all orders are packaged with gift grade tissue paper. For the outside packaging, there’s no bubble wrap and plastic, only card, paper, tape and biodegradable document wallets, so it can all go straight into the recycling. It’s lovely to see an ethical company taking that step further to do their bit to preserve the planet for our children.

It’s a pleasure to hear Hillary speak about her passion for Toys Naturally so I thought I’d let her words do the talking…

‘My daughter, nephew, niece and unborn child are very much my inspiration and drive for running Toys Naturally. The focus is 100% on little people and their parents. I hold stock of everything and if something goes out of stock, I say so clearly on the site. I believe in offering a really good service and stocking quality products that offer enduring play value which ultimately leads to children learning and progressing independently.

Equally important is that the toys look good and are inviting – not just to children but to parents and carers to, so that they are drawn into play and so that toys and play become a natural part of any environment. They should also be open ended with as many different ways to play with as possible which is brilliant for developing skills and cognitive function, but doubly good as it also means more play value and bang for buck.’

I couldnt agree more with everything she says and I’ve already spent some time browsing the site and making a list of things that I’ll be getting for Chloe’s birthday. And of course we’ll need some toys that Chloe can play with the baby when they arrive. Definitely a new addition to my favourite places to shop bookmark.

A few of our favourite things

I thought it would be nice to occasionally do a post about things we love, I think it might be a nice monthly thing to do but we’ll see how it goes. So here are some of our most favourite things from the past few months, please note this is not a sponsored post in any way, these are things that we have bought and think are fab so want to share!

Chloe has always liked books and especially things like the ‘touchy feely’ range or lift the flap ones but she goes crazy for Dear Zoo! Even the first time we showed her it she was just giggling her head off non stop and even now she knows whats coming she still finds it hilarious. We’ve also found that if we’re out in the car and she starts to get tired and a bit grumbly, if we say ‘And then they sent me a *insert animal name*’ it stops her being grizzly and she happily listens to us try to think up random animals (a hedgehog, but he was too prickly, etc). Me and daddy take it in turns and it soon becomes a game between us of who can run out of animals to use first. But back to the book, it’s lovely, simple to read, bright, the flaps are all different in how they open and Chloe loves the song like repetition. This is the kind of book I’d buy anyone with a toddler and I can see ours getting very dog-eared from lots of use.

Wonderworld Wooden Rainbow Sound Blocks. We got these about a month ago and they are beautifully made, colourful and very tactile! I love wooden toys and these are perfect for little hands to explore, lightweight, rounded edges and very sturdy. The blocks come in 3 different shapes and each one not only has a different coloured panel but makes a different sound when shaken. The wooden frame they come in gets played with too, Chloe likes to open and close the lid to it, which makes a loud snap sound and to stack the blocks on top of it. We’ve been teaching her the colours when we hold the blocks up to the light or in front of her eyes so she can see through them, which always makes her giggle. The ones with smaller beads in make a lovely light rattle sound and the bigger blocks have bigger beads in that make a louder noise. This is a firm favourite with everyone and would be a great addition to any normal wooden blocks collection (which is next on our list).

Kiddylicious Fruit Snacks. I saw these months ago but only tried them recently and I wish I had sooner as Chloe loves them (I tried them too and could easily eat a whole packet!). One bag is classed as 1 of your 5 a day, Chloe only tends to eat half a packet as a snack at a time but I pop the leftovers in a container and she has the rest another day. There’s no salt or added sugar to them, they are just fruit which have been dried/crisped up some magical way that taste lovely and melt in your mouth. It’s a great healthy snack, especially when we’re out as they arent messy, no crumbs everywhere! Chloe loves the apple variety as the slices are nice and large and easy to hold, they come in pineapple too and banana (which we have yet to try). They are the first thing I pop in the change bag when we’re heading out the door for the day and I think are great for an on the move snack.

Hope enjoyed our little share and please add a few of your favourite things in the comments below.
